Hey, what’re you reading?

It seems to me that enough time has past that a new or more recent book recommendation posting should be published.

With that spirit in mind, I would love to hear about any worthy titles that you have read over the past year.

Any genre, any length, any author, any level (I still read big books!).

You get the idea.

Me?  A book that I have read recently, Wild Trees, is a non-fiction title about redwood trees.

The book tells true stories about people’s experiences with the giant trees–climbing them, discovering new species of animals and plants–and along the way I was blown away with the descriptions and ideas.  (Did you know that possibly half of the species of plants and animals on earth live in the canopies of these mammoth trees?  And, they remain for the most part, undiscovered.)

So, very simply:  Read any good books lately?

a book i’m reading right now is “Chicks with sticks it’s a purl thing.” so far it is really good. it’s about a girl named Scottie who takes up knitting after her aunt roz dies. and things get complicated when she unveils her knitting secret. the knitting takes her to unexpected places and people and she discovers it’s actually quite fun. this may sound corny but, this book made me want to start knitting!! but not to the point i actually did it;) well to put it short, this is a good story and i reccommend it to anyone looking for a good read.

I read that book and I actually do knit (I read that book after I started kntting though) I didn’t really like it that much becasue the girls from knitting beginners to experts all in the span of approximently 2 months. Well anyway….

I just finished the book Fever by Laurie Halse Anderson (author of Speak and Catalyst 2 other amazing books.) It is about a girl in the first years of the US Washington is still president, and she is doing fine until a yellow fever plagues the nation and the whole city goes into chaos. Id the disease didn’t kill you more than likely the aftermath that followed more than likely would. I really like this book because it shows howa small thing, like a virus, can cause so much damage.

Hey Mr. Madden,
I am just finishing Twilight. It is realy good!!! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I think that the movie is as good as the book. They cut out a few sceens and added some new sceens but other that it was good. That is what I am reading.

Bye!!!!

Hello,

Sorry for not commenting lately. I’ve been buried in an extreme amount of homework. It’s stressful.

Anyways:
I see many people are beginning to read Twilight! That’s great. I don’t know what took them so long, though! Ha. I’m not even going to get into discussing the movie version again. It was just not a good memory. So, yeah. Everyone needs to read Twilight the book!

That last sentence was a fact^^^^^^
Haha.

I just finished reading the book “Till Death Do Us Part,” by Lurlene McDaniel. It was brilliant. Not as good as Twilight, of course. But it was brilliant.

Here’s my very own summary:

The main character April Lancaster was told from her doctor that she has a large tumor in the back of her brain. There isn’t much that can be done to stop it from growing because of where it is, but the doctors are trying their best. While in the hospital for her tumor, April meets Mark Gianna. She finds out that he, too, has a terrible health problem. He has had CF, or cystic fibrosis, for his entire life. CF makes it hard to breathe because it clogs your lungs. It often leads to death. The two young adults begin to fall in love, even though April never thought it would happen. Mark shows her how to live a full life without her health having to interfere.

Then, something incredibly horrible happens. I don’t want to say anything, because I don’t want to ruin anything. You’ll just have to find out yourself. And you really should. “Till Death Do Us Part” is a wonderful book. It’s the kind that will make you cry yourself to sleep no matter what the outcome of the book is. Just go read it.

Please and thank you,
Kaitlyn S.

Ah, yes. I have also read chicks with sticks and think it is a very good book. Though I do agree with Tess, it is odd how they went from beginning knitters to experienced in the course of a few months (I’ve only been knitting for about five months and still find many patterns difficult).

I have also read “A Great and Terrible Beauty”, and I recommend that everyone who likes books about red heads, caves, secret orders, dark beings, and secrets, should read it. I am going to the library tomorrow to (hopefully!) get the sequel tomorrow.
