So, it is out.

I have not seen the flick, probably by the end of the year.  What about you?  Have you seen the film version of Stephenie Meyer’s novel, Twilight?

Was the movie faithful to the book?

Was Edward portrayed well by Robert Pattinson

Did Kristen Stewart bring Bella to life for you?

Did you scream at the screen during the movie (be honest)?

Is there to be a New Moon?  Should there be a New Moon movie version?

What about Stephenie Meyer, what will her opinion be of the film?

Just some non-random questions to spur conversation.

okay i have not yet seen the movie(shocker right). But from the previews the movie looks terrible. I know i can’t really judge it yet but… i am. The people are crazy looking-(has anyone seen Jasper’s hair, it’s ridiculous. It makes him look like an escaped guy from the mental asylum.) and what about kirsten stewart? Her voice is too deep and she has no expression. But her physical features match bella. Robert Pattinson has waaaay too much make up. and again watup with the hair. Emmett is supposed to have curly hair and be really big and muscular, the guy who plays him is only muscular(tsk, tsk). Rosalie did not match my mental visulastion at all. And alice is creepy & not really pretty. and if that’s not enough, I heard that the special effects are really bad. I think i’m expecting way too much of this movie and so far i don’t think it will live up to my expectation. The people better be extremely good actors in order for me to like the movie. I know i’m being really harsh and a big critique but that is just my opinion.

I havnt seen the movie but I want to my family went to the theater today and I almost got on my nees if I did my mom couldn’t say no ( there were people all around us) but she kept saying no and that she didn’t feel safe with me alone in a movie theater so after a long debate I watched madascar2 it was ok but I still want to see twilight a lot if not more

What’s up with the cupcake picture?

I saw the movie. I thought it was pretty cool. But I have to admit I’m so sad that they didn’t put the whole book into the movie, but, hey, a book is always (in most cases) better than the movie. Twilight, the book, was better in my opinion. They detailed out every bit of it in the book. Unfortunately, in the movie, they just kind of zoomed by a lot of it. But I have to say I loved the baseball part…very exciting and energizing! I’d give the movie at least a 4/5 or a 5/5. But I really want to see it again.

Oh yeah cool Robert Pattinson is the actor that plays Cedricc Diggory in Harry POtter 4.

I just saw “Twilight.”
It sucked.

i don’t want to talk about it.

All,

Happy Black Friday! After spending hours in shimmering downtown Chicago, we made our way to Polish sausages, Door County sauerkraut, and fried apple slices and onions at my in-laws in Elgin, IL.

@Kaitlyn, I cannot help but to ask, “Why?” to your comment about the Twilight film. Aside from the fact that your’s was the first negative comment on the movie–well, wait, no, that is exactly why I am so curious–because your view was in such stark contrast to other Twilight moviegoers.

And, because you were so powerfully brief with your words.

@Tess, are you buying the “new” Harry Potter book, The Tales of Beedle the Bard?

@Aman, have you seen the movie yet to validate your preview?

@Tony, click on the “cordeman” credit link to the “cupcake” image to find the answer to your question.

Mr. M

Yes, it is going to be shiped to my house!! My mom preordered back in September.

Hey, Mr.Madden,
I saw the movie and I have to admit, it was not as good as the book. but the book is hard to live up to. thers gonna be a new moon. I think that they changed too much. but if you never read twilight, I guess it would be a good movie. but I was expecting more.

-Tala

There are several reasons why “Twilight” sucked.
I could go on and on and on, getting more aggravated by the second. I’ll try to stay calm though. I’ll try.

The Reasons:

1) Everyone kept saying “Carlos” or “Carlo” (I forget which one) instead of “Carlisle.” What’s up with that?
2) Bella met Jacob way too early in the movie. She was supposed to meet him in La Push, not her house on the very first day she moved to Forks.
3) All of those special effects and stunts that the vampires did were absolutely dreadful to watch. They were as fake as pink-blue-green hair. No joke. I thought they could do better than that.
4) Since when did Edward and the other vampires jump/fly around? Never. Yeah, that’s right. Never in the book. Adding this to the movie just made me hate it that much more.
5) Jasper does not look right!
6) Jasper’s ability to change people’s moods wasn’t mentioned whatsoever in the movie. Strange, right?
7) Throughout the whole, dang, entire movie, everyone was depressed for some odd reason! I don’t think I ever saw Bella smile. Not once. Edward and Bella seemed pretty happy for the most part in the book. I could always picture them smiling. Couldn’t say the same for the movie.
8) The way the actors talked was horrible and not right at all. They seems out of breath or something. They paused between every single word. It wasn’t normal. It’s okay sometimes, but no matter who they talked to, they all were grasping for air.
9) The way Bella found out about Edward being a vampire was all screwed up. She was supposed to basically be told by Jacob that he’s a vampire. Not given a little bit of clues. She didn’t have to go through that whole search for what he is on the computer and through books, in the book “Twilight.” She didn’t figure it out in the book. Jacob flat out told her that Edward is a vampire. All she did was look up more stuff about vampires.
10) Uhhhhh. Hello!? Since when did Bella have a laptop computer?! What happened to her excessively slow, ancient one? That’s what I want to know. The movie gave Bella a laptop. I was not happy.
11) Remember when Bella went dress shopping in the book with Angela and Jessica in the book? Remember how she couldn’t find any book store? Yeah, that’s not exactly how it all went down in the movie, which just made me so entirely thrilled…not. Bella found a bookstore quite easily in the movie, and a book! She found a book to help her figure out what Edward is. Hmmm. If the movie makers went by “Twilight” the book, she wouldn’t have needed to find a bookstore. She knew what Edward was in the book. Now that’s an idea. Who would have thought of that?!
12) The restaurant was all wrong. Edward and Bella were supposed to be away from everyone. Instead, they were inches away from other people. Plus, Bella was supposed to tell Edward that she knows he’s a vampire that night. She wasn’t supposed to tell him in some random forest.
13) Speaking of this forest scene, it never happened in the book. Edward started wigging out and getting all jumpy and freaky in front of Bella. So, so, so weird. And then he showed her his skin while in the sun…before they got to the meadow! Ughhh. Not right.
14) The movie never mentioned the meadow. Edward and Bella went to the meadow, not mentioning it though. Oh yes, I was steamin’.
15) The way Edward and Bella got to the meadow and left it was all wrong. They just showed up. They didn’t talk about it, Bella didn’t get scared to ride on his back, Edward didn’t dodge away from her in the meadow, they didn’t kiss once they left, nothing. None of that took place.
16) Edward and Bella’s first kiss was in Bella’s bedroom for the movie, not in the forest right after they were in the meadow. Plus Bella was supposed to start bleeding. That didn’t happen.
17) Edward never told Bella why he liked to watch her sleep in the movie. In the book, he explained that she talked in her sleep. She even said his name. Nope, none of that was in the movie.
18) Bella never talked about her freaky dreams in the movie. All she said was, “That was the first night that I dreamed of Edward Cullen.” Uhhh, there needs to be more to it…or at least there should be.
19) Bella was this wonderful cook in the book. She always had dinner ready for her dad when he got home from work. Instead, they went to the “diner” for every meal in the movie.
20) Mike wasn’t the only guy to ask Bella to the dance in the book. There were like three guys! She kept saying no, making Edward more and more amused. He eventually confronted her about it. In the movie however, As soon as Mike asked Bella, Edward came right up to her to talk about it.
21) At the end of the book, while Edward and Bella were at the prom, Edward and Bella were talking about how it was currently twilight (the time and stuff), etc. That’s a huge thing! It pulls in the title. I don’t know if you noticed, but the title happens to be “TWILIGHT.” This particular word wasn’t spoken at all at the end of the movie. It wasn’t said once throughout the entire two hours of the movie!

Okay, I think I’m done now. If I think of anymore I’ll be glad to share them with all of you.

This is exactly why I wasn’t going to share my thoughts on the movie. I have way too much to say. I feel very strongly for “Twilight” the book, and I hate having it ruined like this. It seriously hurt. It felt like a stab in the back. I just cannot believe what these people have done to “Twilight.”

I love the BOOK called “Twilight.” It is amazing.
Kaitlyn S.

KAITLYN! YOU DIDN’T LIKE IT! That makes me sad….. Ohhhh well. I still think it is AmAzInG and can’t wait for New Moon and Eclipse….not so much Breaking Dawn but I don’t talk about that…. :/

Delanie,

I loved Breaking Dawn. I just wanted to get that out. Our opinions differ about a lot of this, so let’s not discuss all of it.

Anyways…
Stephenie Meyer is a wonderful author. I give her my props. I also give her two thumbs up. I’d give more, but it’s kinda hard with only two thumbs and all. She’s such an amazing author, and the “Twilight” series is breathtaking. It just is.

Kaitlyn S.

I LOVED THE MOVIE! I though it was soo good! I was always soo in to it! and I thought every person did such a good job of capturing the esence of everyone in the book! I am soo glad i saw it! I am ussaully a very different person, wanted to go against the flow, dressing different, acting different, but i decided ” what the heck” so i saw it! and the guy who played Edward ( who was of course TOTALLY EXTREMELY AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS! ) did such a good job!
and Bella was perfect!
aww man i loved it soo mcuh :)

I dont know what your thinking, Kaitlyn!
jk love ya!

I think Kaitlyn has pretty good reasons but I don’t think that they stoped it from being a great movie. If I were to list everything that was missing from the HArry Potter series then I would have to make my own blog. Eventhough I know a whole lot of the plot is missing or changed I still think that they are good movies. If the authors of the movies put evetything that was in the book into the movie that would be a 5 hour movie. I know that the movies will never come close to the book but I still felt that they did a good job anyway.

Tess

People,

Your responses to the Twilight movie have been most inspired!

@Kaitlyn, I so appreciate your taking such care in crafting your critque. I respect that you have taken a position that many others don’t share! Beauty, as was written, is in the eye of the beholder.

And, as William Shakespeare wrote, “To thine own self be true.”

@Lydia, I enjoy so much your enthusiasm! Loud and proud!

@Tess, it is true that the last Potter book will be made into two separate movies?

-Mr. M

Yeah. I think that I’d rather sit through the long movies rather than have to wait for the next one to come out becasue you don’t know how it’s going to be ended.

Hey Mr. Madden,
I saw Twilight and it was very good. I didn’t finish the book before I saw it because I started over in the middle. I know I worked on it last year but started over this year. From what I read it is kind of differen. I think Stephenie Meyer would like it. I think that there should be a New Moon movie. Ofcoures this one I hope to finish the book before I see the movie.

Krystin V

I agree with kaitlyn-they screwed the book up but i think the movie was not as terrible as she makes it sound. Ohh, and are the white dots supposed to be snow?

I have not yet seen the Twilight movie but many people have urged me to see it. I am afraid it will ruin the book like Eragon. I was very disappointed with the movie for that. the book was sooo much better! I agree with tony on the cupcake thing. Is that the new book’s cover?

Mr. M,
Duh yeah I saw twilight!
Yeah I tink Rob did an awesome job acting as Edward!
Bella was exactly as i pictured her!
The movie was awesome! 10/5!

I personally think, that no movie can ever live up to any book (its maybe been done once), and that it’s hard to fit a 500-600 page book in to a 2 hour time frame. But Catherine did well, and it saddens me to see her leave the Twilight Franchise. And welcome to the new director whose name escapes me at this moment! I hope everyone will warmly welcome his ideas.

As for the movie, they could have had better effects and stunts, but other than that I was practically sighing with everyone of Edward and Jasper’s line *sigh*, and almost screaming out loud when Edward put his arm around Bella.

I love love loved the soundtrack. What with a song by my favorite band *MUSE*, and a great variety of music, this was a great music, and deserves a grammy. Have I said that I loved it? Well I do. Very Much.

Love Love Love,
Becca A.

Mr.Madden I am very mad because i didnt see the movie, and i have no clue why i haven’t!
