Hey there!  Happy Year!

Listen, on Thursday of this week I will be traveling over to Haslett HS to see a very popular new young adult (YA) author, Libba Bray (www.teenreads.com) Ms. Bray wrote the trilogy A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, and A Sweet Far Thing.   The last book has just been released, so the author is making public appearances to push the book.  The visit at HHS, as far as I am told, is mostly a Q&A session with teachers and students.

But hold the phone!  Ms. Bray is also appearing at Schuler’s Books in the Eastwood Towne Center at 4 PM of Thursday for a Schuler’s sponsored pizza party.  If you happen to be in the area, by all means drop in!  Most people don’t get too many chances to see a best-selling author–and even if you have, why not see another?!

In any event, I am excited about the appearance and I look forward to hearing the questions from the students as well as the teachers.

Now, if you were given the chance to ask a successful author a question, what would the question be?  I am thinking that if I get a chance to ask a question, it would be much more interesting to say that it comes from one of my amazing middle school students.

Hmm, I know:  “Ms. Bray, which hand do you write with?”  No, no, that won’t cut it.

Help me!

My question would be…..Do you believe that anyone can ben author?

Delanie O.

I’m always intresteted to know;
1. What was brought from real life experiences
and
2. What inspired your book.

I agree with Haley, I like to know the inspireration that gave the book life.
( if that makes an sense)

do your books relate to any of your life experiences?

or..

whats the address your trying to get across by your writing..are you trying to make a statement or teach a lesson.?

I think that I would ask them what made you write this booK??

It’s taken a while, but I finally have a question.
It would be:

How would the child you once were think of the person that you are now?
