Go Green! Go Momma Earth!

Huh?

As you may or may not know, Miss Storm, 8th grade science teacher, along with other teachers (me, included), students, and parents, has begun a Green Team at Hayes. The goal of the team is to get Hayes a Green School award for being more enviromentally alert, aware, with it, on top of things, happening, and generally nifty.

Things like having students do projects to further the ecological soundness of Hayes, or increase the amount of recycling stuff that would normally end up on some dump (aka, landfill) somewhere. Or, to help get Hayes students to become more enviromentally aware. Wouldn’t it be great if just one kid would hesitate before tossing that plastic bag into the trash, and instead start collecting them in order to recycle?!

So, I will communicate, through this blog, more information as the program blossoms. If you are interested, see me or Miss Storm (if you don’t know her, she is most friendly, and quite a hoot!) about how to get involved.

The next Green Team meeting (for students only) is Tuesday, November 27, 2:45-4:00, in Miss Storm’s cavernous classroom, Room 501.

People, you have such amazing enthusiasm for life.  This program/team seems built for so many of you!  Create your legacy at Hayes by joining up and starting something that could potentially be around for years and years to come!  Loan your absolutely sensational creativity to the Green Team–whether it  be through your writing prowess, your splendid artistic ability (hint, hint), or your superb problem-solving powers.  Make the adults in the building say, “Whoa!  (shaking their heads) These kids are so much more than just great students!”

Get Going! Get Green!

Of course, i would be happy to help out and be on the green team
Where do i sign up? ( or do you not have to?)

I’m already on it! Man, do I feel involved!

This is completely off topic. But- Mr.Madden…

YOU’VE REACHED 1,000 SITE HITS!!!!

Whoa!

I am already on the green team………but not student council. Sigh.

This whole thing sounds really cool…and environmentally friendly, but I still have a few questions about it. I’m not sure what you do and talk about at each meeting, what days of the week they would be on (I have to babysit a lot), and what exactly the Green Team does to help the environment. Also, what I could do with my artistic ability (I know I had something to do with that “hint, hint”), if I joined.

Mr. Madden,

I’m finally done with my book. I finished Tuesday night. Extras was okay. There was a little too much action for me…and not enough romance. That’s why it took me so long. I’m just wondering how and when I should give it back to you. I’ll have it with me at all times (except for lunch of course) all day tomorrow and every other day just incase I ever see you…which hardly ever happens. So just respond back as soon as possible because I know other people want to read Extras. Hopefully they like action more than me!!

Kaitlyn,

I have been remiss in my corner duties by the office in the mornings. Plan on seeing me there in the very near future (hint, hint).

Tess,

The interchangeability of ICANPAVA is the key. The fact that, no matter what the order, the answer remains the same.

Think: set.

-Mr. M

Wait, so I had the right idea but I just need to find the right words? You were kinda cmofusing but that’s the idea of a riddle right?
Oh yeah, I’m in like the 1st chapter of Extras and it’s pretty good so far. It’s really addicting. I probably will finish it in a while because I have other books to read that are close to being overedue. So they have to come first in my book order. I just finished Hope Was Here and Countdown that are in the BOB section of the library. They were really good books.

Tess

Tess,

You are on the right track.
