What do you think?

A rather boring title, fairly much. But, I am interested. You folks have been given a GLPS e-mail account, free and everything (but monitored for safety reasons, nonetheless).

What will you do with it? Who will you write? Is this a step forward in the forward-thinking 21st century? You are the first generation of GLPS middle schoolers to have such an extravagance (I like that word.)

Does this change anything for you? As a student? As a citizen (outside of school)?

Does it smack of “the world is my oyster” kind of feeling? Or, are you left completely unimpressed?

Has this news caught you off guard? Did you not know of this from your teachers? Well, if you didn’t, you can go to http://webmail.glps.k12.mi.us and input your usual GLPS network id and password. Same as if you were logging into the network at school.

Remember, this is a luxury, a privilege, so be smart about using the system. There is no rewind button in life, especially on the Internet, and always with e-mail.

Write forth.

I think that the e-mail idea is cool. but i dont like our user name/address. It has our student number in it. the one we use to buy lunch so if you send an email to someone at the school they will have your number. Also if you type in someone’s name in the address box you see their name and their number. I don’t like that.

ummm well didnt kno we had an e-mail, an i dont really get the purpose but sure i guess if i have one then why not…. but it doesnt really intrigue me(or however u spell that)? i have a sense that i really wont be using it but thats alright an yea extravagance is a pretty cool word…lol

I know that I won’t use the email that much because I already have my own email adress.

*I don’t have much to say…..I am really tired!

I agree with Tess. The school system makes it seem like our I.D.’s are sacred and then send the out into the internet! Also, I know I will NEVER use this e-mail. I’m good with my AOL- plus I never have to worry about every word I write being monitered. Freedom of speech……
