You’re not in Kansas anymore.

So, you’re not a 6th grade person anymore.  And?  What have you noticed about your new universe?  Are there really big changes?  Or, are the changes similar to when you moved from 5th to 6th?  What I mean is, what are the biggest differences going from 6th to 7th and beyond?

Now, of course, this applies to all the years after 6th, so if you are reading this, and you are in a higher grade than 7th, you’re input is valuable as well.

So is all school the same, basically?  Or does it truly change after 6th grade?

Hmm.

7th grade is pretty much just like 6th grade so far. Yeah, I don’t have the same teachers, classrooms, and locker, but other than that, the grades are a lot alike.

Differences:
First of all, I have science 2nd hour. I’m still trying to get used to that because I had it 5th hour last year (where it always felt like the end of the day, but now it’s pretty much the beginning). Also, I have history 4th hour. which is weird for me because I had it 6th hour last year, so the day was practically done. Now it’s before lunch!! Everyday I can feel (and hear) my stomach rumbling in two different places at the same time constantly. Plus, I have all encores after lunch. Which is 5th and 6th hour. I’m used to having it 2nd hour. So that’s a little odd right now. The main thing though is that today my 4th hour class was told that we have to switch classes with the other history teacher for the rest of the year. Supposedly the people who need extra help in our class were ment to be in the other class. Instead of making it too complicated, they want to move the whole class, instead of those 10 (I’m guessing about that amount) people. So now I have Mr. Root and not Mrs. Price/Mrs. Kappler. I’m happy…not!! I’d rather have those people change and bring some people to our classroom instead of everyone….but whatever. I can’t do anything about it. I didn’t even know who and what Mr. Root looks until my friend told me. THen I remembered seeing him before.

That’s all for now I guess.

P.S. Mr. Madden, are you the reading strategies teacher for 6th grade now? I saw a link to reading strategies on your MadWords Now blog. Also, there’e a kid at my bus stop that has you twice every day. If so, that’s not fair!! I knew something like that would happen!

Nothing much has changed… just lunch, shesh that stinks…. but that’s all for now.

P.S. There’s no place like home!

Hello Mr. Madden!!! :-)

Well I would have to say that “things” change after sixth grade…..for me….meaning Friendships!! (for other people also) And thats for real! You are great at keeping up on these blogs! I give you a thumbs up! haha

*Ashley*

P.S. There is N.O. place like…………..MR. MADDEN’S CLASS!!!!! Seriously ;-)

I am really suprised that it is not as scary as thought! The weird part is that I have band third hour in stead of fith, so somtimes I think it is the end of the day! Then it makes me sad because it’s not. :( I am soooo increadably glad that my locker is by a door! That way I don’t have to run.(not literally)

you know how when you were in 6th graded and you looked down the seventh grade hall. and everything looks so different. well it doesn’t feel different. it feels the same. i kinda wanted it to be way different so that i could complain about it but i guess i can’t

hey Mr. Madden!!!

I never knew you had a blog thingy till now…..
i was just cheking out teacher websites when i came up on yours and found this blog thingy…..

Well……. the biggest change is that you start losing some friends at 6th and 7th grade…..and then you make more new ones…. also….you get used to the whole schedule and h.w and getting prepared for high school stuff…….. sorry if i put too much ands and dots………
