The answer to the question, “How was your first week back at school?”

So, truly, how was it? I am an English teacher, so let the details roll. No names, that is not the point (positive or negative). Are you more or less excited about the rest of the school year now?

Speaking of which, I need suggestions for books to keep filling my bookcases. I have two fairly full ones now, but there are two antiquish book cases sitting in my garage at home. How lonely.

What books are worthy of stocking on my shelves? They don’t necessarily have to be recent releases. A title could come from a book you read a while ago. Quality is what I am after.

Remember that I teach kids whose reading levels vary from 4th grade all the way to college level sometimes.

So, with that in mind, talk of how school is shaping up, and drop two or twenty titles on me.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Mr. M… First week of school? Not as fabulous as I’d honestly expected. Mrs. C always told us how much fun 7th grade is, and I’m quite disapointed.
Part of me expected every teacher from 6th replace with a new face, and same personality as last year. Change isn’t an easy thing for me, and it’s an adjustment.
I can’t go back now- so what’s the point of reminising in the past? I’ve always been “a half full glass” kinda-gal and I’d hate to loose my status.
Next topic.
How are my nicely originized books holdin up? Still originized, I hope? Hehe. Is there a new “me?” aka. do you have a new student re-stacking your bookselves?
Next topic.
My book list:

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (I know you have it, I’m just saying)
New Moon ” ”
Eclipse ” ”
How To Be Popular~A Novel by Meg Cabot
Maximum Ride (One, two, and three) by James Patterson
A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks
Size 12 Is Not Fat- A Heather Wells mystery by Meg Cabot
Size 14 Is Not Fat Either- The Sequel to “Size 12 Is Not Fat” by Meg Cabot
Among the Hidden series by Margret Peterson Haddix
Hoot by Carl Hiaasen
Secrets of My Hollywood Life by Jen Calonita

Just off the topof my head… I’ll think of more later.

Bu bi! Haley

I just finished reading a good book called Spells and Sleepingbags by Sara Mlynowski It’s a really good book about a witch in training at a summer camp. I think it’s part of a series but I’m not really sure what book it is.
I also thin you should get “the Clique” series because last year that was a really good hit.
In order to get the sixth graders into reading you should read the firdt chapter of a book to them about once every other week.
