You guys have been a wonderful writing group the entire summer (which, by the way, is not over)! Once the new blogs have been launched, keep it going. You have started something that I don’t see much on the Internet: student voices.

So, any last thoughts before the next major chapter opens?

You have my thanks, and my absolute best wishes for a fantabulous school year.

Why does summer have to end?

It’s like a book that you keep dreading the end, with every passing page, because it’s been so good it hurts to finish. Summer’s kind of like that huh?

You meet and befriend new characters, expierennce new events, uncover new mysteries, and everything inbetween.

So as I turn the the final page on this summer novel, I’m saying this…

Don’t let this new book scare you. It’s just something you need to do, to come back to that summer novel. So enjoy the book.

“Don’t cry because it’s over. smile because it happened.”

Heyy!!

Ughh….Summer goes by TOO FAST!! Yes I do agree that school is something that you HAVE to do and it makes you look forward to SUMMER!!!

How was your first day of school today Mr. Madden?!?!

*Ashley*

Ashley,

My first day? Hmm. Well, today went by in a heartbeat. Truly, one moment I was checking attendance for 1st hour, and the next breath I took, it seemed, I was telling my 6th hour to put up their chairs!

As usual, I am enthused about another school year opening up. There is always so much mystery, potential, and a sense of the unknown that I find both fascinating and intriguing. Kind of like taking a walk in a dense and unfamiliar forest.

Anyone else?

-Mr. Madden

Hey Mr. Madden!

The day went by pretty quickly but not super quick because we have to listen to ALL the teachers talk for six hours!!! ;-)

Glad to hear that your day went by quick!

*Ashley*

the first day was awsome!!!! i really liked it!!

Mr. Madden.

I’m really surprised that I had such a great day today. If I knew what would happen, then I never would have been scared. The bus was really crouded though. I had like 3 inches for me on my seat in the morning. Mr. Madden, I saw you this morning when I was walking in…but when I looked a 2nd time, you were gone! I’m so happy that I got Mr. Palacio for math. I have ELA 1st hour (just like last year), and math 3rd hour (just like last year). I’m not too happy that I have a sub for history till Thanksgiving because Mrs. Price, my history teacher, just had a baby.

I don’t see why all of these people are sad to see summer end. The only part about summer that I liked was when I went to Niagara Falls, Canada (which was in June), Saco, Maine (which also was in June), playing with my dogs 24/7, and being with my friends. The rest was pretty much boring.

Happy First Day of School!!
Kaitlyn S.

Raise your hand if you were bored today. I definetley was. All of my teachers had to give us the same speech about what to do, when to do it….blah, blah, blah. Usually I like the second day of school better and this year seems like it’s going to be the same. Is anyone else unhappy about us having last lunch?

The only positive thing I see about the first day is that we get to meet our teachers, and see what friends are in our classes.

Tess

P.s. I got Mr. Helmic for my L.A. class it feels really weird walking down the 6th grade hall again.

Hey Mr. Madden, wow it seems like i haven’t talked to you in forever!!!! Umm, well not that you asked but I’ll go ahead an tell you about my first day anyway. Alright so I get my schedule an my mouth drops open real wide…. I have gym first hour, getting all sweaty the first hour of the day…YUCK! Then I go to my locker an realize I don’t have one of those knobby things on the little cubby above my locker…plus, I have no classes with friends.. ugh I’m mad, but hopefully tomorrow will be better… well I hope that you had a good day an I hope too see ya soon… -Jes

P.S i totally dig the whole alumni thing, its gunna be pretty sweet!
