No such thing as “I don’t know.”

Quick question of the day: What is one thing that you would truly like to accomplish before school starts? Do you think you will be able to do it?

Or, sort of conversely, what is the biggest achievement of your summer so far? This is a tough question, now that I apply it to myself. It will take me some time to be sure of a reasonably good answer. (I have to do better than to respond by issuing a mere “Huh.”)

My accomplishment of the summer is merely volunteering my time so much. I’ve been at the humane society more then I’ve been at my house… last time I check my hours I had 70-80 hours just starting in July.

It’s so rewarding. To see the dogs and cats, getting to know them, and watching them find a home so much better then their previous family. You don’t realize how much you’d love the feeling until it happens.

Second Accomplishment: Reading five books in a two week vacation to Hawaii…

To be accomplished: To reach 100-150 hours volunteering at the humane society.

Not a lot- but it’s something.

One of my accomplishments is giving my dog,Thunder, one of the best summers ever. We have been gone a lot and he might get lonely in the kennel, but I make sure he has lots of his favorite toys and food, treats and what not, but most of all, I try and spend a few hours with him before departing.

Another one of my accomplishments is being able to swim from one end of my swimming pool to the other in 21 seconds. (I think my pool is oh, 25-30 feet in length) It isn’t great, but instead of taking 45 seconds last year (you can make fun of me for keeping track, I don’t care) I dropped 24 seconds.

They aren’t fascinating and fantastic things, but to me it’s better than saying “I can breathe 2 times faster” or something, but if you find that an accomplishment of your summer, don’t hesitate to add it because of me…I’m not that intimidating…if you remember me correctly

My accomplishment is to finnish a stupid math book by the end of the summer. But, the good part is that when I finnish it… I get money!$$$

I thought of another achivement… I went through my closet and got out all the clothes that didn’t fit. I put them in a box and mailed it to Zambia, Africa where I happen to have penpals! I felt really good after doing that, knowing that I was helping someone.

Delanie

Delanie that’s so nice what you did with your clothes!

P.S. I accomplished my goal- 120 hours…

My biggest accomplishment of the summer is probably redoing my room. It took a lot of hard work. My mom mostly did all of the painting and everything but I went through all of my dressers and got rid of all the clothes that didn’t fit me anymore and also going through everything else in my room and just cleaning my room.

Hey Mr. Madden how’s the new 6th grade class? I know one thing, 6th grade was even better than
7th. So how was your summer?

p.s. write back.

Becca,

I am glad that you had a good experience in 6th grade. Give 7th a bit more time, sometimes new things (like new teachers, classes, etc.) don’t seem as comfortable as stuff that you became used to (like 6th grade).

My summer? Lots of home work, like digging in my back yard (I did not realize that we owned that much dirt and clay!), building a new and larger back porch (which Zephyr, our cat, is now the king of), and lots and lots of riding my bike (I only had a single flat tire.)

See you in the hall, Becca.
